Since 2016, the Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr (BMDV) has been funding digital and data-based research and development projects for the mobility of the future with the mFUND. The mFUND conference takes place once a year, this year from 13 and 14 September 2022 at the Westhafen Event & Convention Center (WECC) in Berlin. There, Thomas Freudenmann Co-CEO and co-founder of EDI GmbH will present the RELAI project in a final presentation on the main stage on 13 September 2022.
The RELAI project - Risk Estimation with a Learning AI - aims to analyse real scenarios in road traffic and the driving behaviour necessary for safe driving. For this purpose, not only the official traffic rules are taken into account, but also the traffic behaviour of other road users. The results are virtual training & test scenarios for testing the driving behaviour of autonomously driving vehicles.
EDI's contribution to the project is the Incident Detector application, which can be used to find critical scenarios in the data.
